For the first time ever Brighton Beach will play host to Europe’s Biggest Extreme Sports and Music Festival, White Air.
White Air can now reveal that this year’s headliners will be indie heavyweights Doves, NME darlings The Cribs and the mighty Biffy Clyro. In addition to this, the south coast will see White Lies, British Sea Power, Natty, The Boxer Rebellion and more who will take to the stage at the last festival of the summer. From 18th-20th September the infamous stretch of beach at Brighton will be the setting for one jaw droppingly good display of the best sport and music talent around. This scorching line-up infused with some of the world’s most exhilarating sports all in one location is sure to finish the summer with a bang!
Critically acclaimed indie rock band Doves will be blasting out hits like ‘Pounding’ and ‘Black and White Town’ to 20,000 sport enthusiasts and musos alike. Also playing on Saturday, cult indie-rockers The Cribs, featuring relatively new addition Johnny Marr will be playing material from their fourth studio album “Ignore The Ignorant”. Brighton Beach is also set to hear chants of “Mon the Biff!” as Scottish Rock Gods Biffy Clyro rock the beach and blast out anthems like ‘Mountains’ and ‘57′ … who knows Simon Neil and co may just become lightheaded from all the fresh sea air and do an acoustic set as Marmaduke Duke strumming hits such as “Rubber Lover” as the sun sets over the horizon.
This year’s number-one selling success story, post-punk quartet White Lies, and hometown legends, British Sea Power alongside other established acts and some of the hottest new bands around will light up the seafront in what promises to be a unique experience. There is something for everyone!
2 nights of music and 3 days of fantastic extreme sports such as World High Diving displays from a 30m tower into a 3m pool, Windsurfing, Thundercats, Jet Skis, Mixed Martial Arts, Scuba Diving…and lots, lots more. At White Air’s core is a huge Urban Freesports Park with the biggest and best ramps to be seen anywhere - more than ten sports including Skate, BMX, Inline, Parkour, Mountain Bike, Mountain Board, Streetboard, Streetdance, Graff jams, and guaranteed adrenaline rushes for all.
“The festival is now in its 12th year and has gone from strength to strength, although the Isle of Wight was a superb setting for the festival in its early years; Brighton Beach compliments the ethos of the festival perfectly and we’re confident that with this setting, our top rate line-up, and over 40 extreme sports that we’re set to put on one hell of a festival, so take advantage of our Early Bird Weekender tickets available now!”
Helmets at the ready as festival goers are sure to be in for one hell of a ride….
