Paddle Round The Pier : Music Line-Up News
Legendary Brighton bands and classic tributes in the
‘big top’ at Paddle Round The Pier
This year’s Paddle Round The Pier, sponsored by Feelfit, will feature a host of bands and live music playing across the two days in a circus ‘big top’ tent, kindly provided by our friends The Brunswick.
The Brunswick, will also again be operating their ‘Tropical Bar’, so thirsty event-goers can refresh themselves whilst listening to some of the best live music on offer.
And organisers have reacted to demand from previous years for the party to continue on Hove Lawns, meaning the bands will play until 10pm on the Saturday evening.
Saturday’s line-up, starting at 10am, sees the likes of Titan Soundsystem, Two Spot Gobi, Molotov Jukebox and Mean Poppa Lean hit the stage. The evening will close with two popular home-grown Brighton acts - Kovak, followed by Transformer.
On the Sunday, the line-up, again starting at 10am includes: Seeker, Alex Gigante, Soul Reality, Suspiciously Elvis and Los Albertos.
The whole festival closes on Sunday with Letz Zep - the awesome Led Zepplin tribute band who will rock!
Both days sees the kids from Brighton Rock School start off the music, with around seven young bands performing.
Other musical delights featuring at the event include the ‘Chilled Turtle Ukulele Jam’, which takes place also on the Sunday. This will see Uke players from far and wide converging for one large strumming session. Interested people are welcome to come along, grab a Uke and have a go too.
To keep visitors fuelled there will also be an extended ‘World Food Court’, with stalls offering food from across the globe including Thai, Venezuelan, French and Indian cuisine.
The Paddle Round The Pier event is free to enter, but organisers are asking for a suggested donation of £1 before xxpm and just £3 after, all of which will be donated straight to the three nominated charities.
The event is looking to raise in excess of £20,000 for this year’s charities - The RNLI, SurfAid International and local children’s charity, The Rockinghorse Appeal.
Around 20,000 surfers and other watersports users are expected to head to the event across the weekend.
